The Unani System of Medicine originated in Greece (Unan in Arabic). Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine (5th Century BC), gave scientific form and recognition to Greek Medicine. He introduced the Theory of Humors to the world.
"When all the four Humors remain in equilibrium, a person remains healthy; when they are not, disease sets in."
The Unani system of medicine has been used worldwide for hundreds of years to treat various diseases including cancer. The knowledge of Sartan (Cancer) in the Unani (Greco-Arabian) system of medicine can be traced to ancient times (131-200 A.D.). Like all other diseases, its etiology has been attributed to the combustion and imbalance of certain humors in the body.
